Want to learn more?

Open to all survivors to learn more about Domestic Abuse and how to thrive again (different courses are run each term, online and in person)

“…thank you so much for the course, it has made such a huge impact on my healing journey, so much so that I have managed to go back to work”...

“…I have learnt to understand why I have been in abusive relationships, how this has affected my life and my parenting, and learnt to forgive myself.”

  • We run specific courses offered free to survivors, run by trained and empathetic support workers.
  • The courses help understand the many dimensions of different types of domestic abuse and how to rebuild your lives after domestic abuse.
  • The courses are offered in person and online.
  • There is a special course run for male survivors, as well as courses run just for female survivors. Most are now offered on a rolling programme so you can join in as and when works for you.
  • The key element of these courses is finding you are not alone and connecting with other survivors, learning together, understanding your unique experiences and the many similarities.
  • You can self-refer into the courses, talking through with us, which course might be most appropriate for your situation right now.

Survivors Thriving Together

(SODA, Buddies, Consultation, Volunteers, online and in person)

“ I used the online chat which I used weekly & it was an absolute lifeline to me.

“I value receiving the messages. They are important to me as I know that there is a safety group around me. “

There is such value in meeting with others who get it, who have been through similar enough experiences to understand, the good and bad days, the effects of trauma and how they play out in your life.

Survivors of Domestic Abuse is a free membership of over 200 people now across Shropshire.

You will receive:

  • a weekly text to say what is on and where during the week
  • a monthly newsletter to keep you up to date on opportunities

You can join:

  • two weekly online calls – one lunch time, one evening
  • monthly meet ups across over 9 different places in Shropshire – if you can travel you are welcome to join us wherever we are.

SODA Buddies is a new pilot scheme.  Bringing together survivors to join a small Buddies group too. Smaller groups of 3-5 people who you can connect with, to do activities to together.

Give Back Feedback – consultation opportunities, teaming up with other community groups and survivors to give you something for your feedback
